We went for a little walk around the grounds of Gawthorpe Hall today and I spotted a very handsome Flat Coated Retriever. Max was rescued from RSPCA East Lancashire rescue centre when he was two years old. He’s a very friendly boy, he didn’t stop smiling the whole time! He also let Ethan give him a little stroke!
Name: Max
Breed: Flat Coated Retriever
Age: 10 years old (human years)
Favourite food: Carrots! He goes mad for them!
Favourite toy: Max doesn’t really play with toys! He likes playing tug though!
Favourite pastime: Sleeping
Just a point of accuracy. He would not have been rescued FROM East Lancs RSPCA. He would have been rescued BY East Lancs RSPCA and adopted by his current owners. Here (Canada) there seems to be a “Look at me. I rescued a dog. Aren’t I special” attitude which is usually totally unfounded. Our Ray was rescued……….. but we didn’t rescue him. We adopted him. There is a huge difference.
We had a similar dialogue a short time ago with another dog who was supposedly “rescued” ………… but adopted really.
