Year of the Dog Day 365

I’ve done it! Today is the final day of my blog, day 365! I can’t quite believe it! It’s been a fantastic year, I’ve literally met hundreds of amazing dogs! I just want to say a huge thank you to all the people that have followed the blog, the lovely dog owners that have let me take pictures of their brilliant dogs and of course all of the gorgeous doggies themselves! I also want to say a huge thank you to my son Ethan who has been very patient whilst I’ve taken the photo’s and my husband Tim who has also been very patient and supportive (he’s also my IT support!). I also wanted to thank my mum and dad who have come on loads of dog spotting walks with me, they’re the best! Thanks also to my friends who have also been dog spotting for the past year!

I was very excited about meeting Dog 365 today so I decided to visit Heaton Park as I knew there would loads of dogs there! It didn’t take me long before I spotted one of my favourite breeds of dog, a Dogue De Bordeaux so I went over to say hello. Lucy is a very happy girl indeed, she has a massive smile on her face all of the time! She was having a great time running and leaping about! I gave her a good stroke, she’s extremely friendly. Despite her friendly face her human told me that some people are scared of her because she’s so big; she’s a gentle giant though! Lucy’s human has owned a number of Dogue De Bordeaux’s and unfortunately he lost one, Brody earlier this year. He also foster’s Dogue De Bordeaux’s whilst they find their forever home. Lucy was also out with one of her neighbours who takes her out for a walk whilst her human daddy is at work.

Year of the Dog Day 349

I went out at lunchtime today but I didn’t see any dogs about, just loads of people! When I got to Ethan’s nursery I had a quick walk around the block but again no dogs so I had to wait for Tim to get back from work. I headed out into the damp dark night! I didn’t get far when I spotted a dog on the other side of the road so I ran over to say hello but as I got closer I realised it was handsome Buddy from Day 317! I told Buddy’s human that I was on the look out for a dog and she mentioned that her friend lived close by who has a Dogue De Bordeaux so we headed round to say hello!

Izzy is amazing, what a happy, friendly girl! It’s no secret, I love Dogue De Bordeaux’s, all the ones I’ve every met have had such lovely personalities, so smiley, excited and friendly! I gave Izzy lots of fuss, she especially likes having behind her ears stroked! She lent into me so I could give her a good stroke and a cuddle and she didn’t stop smiling the whole time! Izzy is best friends with Buddy, they love each other so much and play all the time. Buddy made sure he gave Izzy plenty of kisses!

I parked up near Ethan’s nursery after work and went for a little walk around the block in search of a dog. I didn’t have to walk far when I noticed an amazing Dogue De Bordeaux up one of the side streets; I was very excited and hot footed it down the street to meet him! As soon as handsome Killian saw me he came bounding over to say hello, what a friendly boy! He loves meeting new people and getting lots of fuss, he’s a big softy! Killian’s owner did a lot of research before he got Killian to make sure he knew everything he needed to! Kilian’s doggy dad is a champion Dogue De Bordeaux.

Year of the Dog Day 145

I’m really lucky, I should have been working today but lovely Mitch who I work with swopped with me so that I could go to a dog show; thanks Mitch! I went to a dog show at Turton Tower, it was great, so many dogs in one place, living the dream! There were loads of dogs, I saw 3 Dogue De Bordeaux’s, a puppy Saint Bernard (words cannot describe how cute), an Old English Sheep Dog, a Flat Coated Retriever called Milo, 2 gorgeous French Bulldogs and many more; they were all amazing! In case you can’t tell it’s been a very exciting afternoon!

I spotted a gorgeous Boston Terrier; I absolutely adore Boston Terriers so I went over to say hello! Lenny is full of pizzazz, so much personality! Lenny is only small but he can jump really high, his human sisters were telling me all about his jumping escapades! The family have had to stop hanging up their coats downstairs because Lenny jumps up and chews the end of the zips; he’s destroyed a few coats that way! Lenny is a really friendly boy and wanted to say hello to all of the dogs that walked past!

I went for a little walk at lunchtime but I didn’t spot any dogs! I drove to the park after work and was very excited when I spotted an amazing Dogue De Bordeaux! I’ve been hoping to see one every day since I started my blog, they’re amazing! I still cry every time I watch Turner and Hooch and I’ve seen it about 50 times! It doesn’t rain then it pours! As I was talking to lovely Tank another Dogue De Bordeaux walked past!

Tank is pretty amazing! He’s a very friendly dog, I got to give him a hug and lots of stokes! Look at his smiley face!
