Year of the Dog Day 364

Can you believe it, today’s dog is my second to last!

I travelled back to Bolton from Exeter today so again I assumed I would be able to find a dog at the service station and I did! I spotted a very beautiful Border Terrier called Fern. Fern was travelling from Cornwall to Lancashire, a long journey! Fern was with her human sisters who she loves as well as her human Grandma who she lives with most of the time. Fern is a very friendly girl, I got to give her lots of fuss; she’s a real cutie! Today is Fern’s second birthday, happy birthday Fern!

I’ve had the day off work today so me and Ethan went to meet our friends at Bradley Fold Garden Centre. Whilst we were waiting at the door for them a man walked past walking a mega cute Border Terrier so I went to say hello! Jack is a really friendly boy, I gave him lots of strokes and he’s so cute! Jack used to belong to his current humans nephew along with Jack’s dog brother but he found two dogs too much to handle so Jack moved in with his current human. Jack is 10 years old but you wouldn’t think it!

I didn’t get chance to look for a dog until I got back to Bolton today. I went for a walk at the bottom of my parents street but it was very quiet about. I had to walk for a good 15 minutes until I spotted a very happy looking dog in the distance. I was very pleased to meet Hewie, he’s a lovely, friendly boy and likes to lean into peoples legs for a cuddle! I got a cuddle and a kiss from him! Before Hewie’s humans got him they did lots of research about what breed to get; they wanted a small dog but with a big personality and they definitely got that in Hewie! Hewie has two human siblings; they’re best buds. On Christmas day Hewie got very excited, more excited than the kids and ripped all of the open his presents in no time! His tennis balls didn’t last for very long!

I’m a lucky girl and I’m spending the weekend in the Lake District with some friends. There are loads of dogs in the Lake District so I know I’m going to have good dog spotting this weekend! We went for a little walk to the beach and I spotted a couple with 2 lovely looking Border Terriers and a very excited Border Collie so I went over to meet them. Fred, Alf and Buddy are all very lovely and friendly, I gave them all a stroke and especially Buddy who likes to lean in for a fuss! The dogs humans previously owned another Border Collie called Sam and they got Fred whist Sam was still alive. Unfortunately Sam had a stroke and so they got Alf to keep Fred company when Sam went. As it turned out Sam lived for another 2 years. After Sam passed they missed having a bigger dog. They popped to town one day and spotted a sign for Border Collie puppies for £25 so they went and bought handsome Buddy. They all get on really well, what a lovely bunch of dogs.

I didn’t have much time to find a dog today! I’d arranged to meet a friend for tea so I only had 45 minutes from when I got home from work to find a dog, get home and get ready. I went for a walk to the park and spotted a happy Yorkshire Terrier in the field but then I realised that it was lovely Bobby from day 90! I got to give him a little stroke and his human daddy told me about a 6 month old Basset Hound they’d just seen, I want to see a puppy Basset Hound! I walked a bit further and I saw two very cute little dogs so I went over to say hello to Bob and Flo. They are both very friendly and Bob is full of personality! Flo is a little bit more shy but she’s very sweet! Bob and Flo have just been spoilt by their humans grandchildren, they’ve had lots of treats.

I drove to the polling station after work today to vote. As it happens the polling station is opposite a park so I thought I’d go there after I voted! I couldn’t believe the size of the queue to vote, it was massive! There were a couple of dogs in the queue to vote but I would have lost my place if I went to say hello to them and by the time I’d finished their owners were due to go in! As soon as I walked out of the polling station I spotted a very cute Border Terrier so I went over to say hello! Macie is very cute and friendly but she’s not very keen on having her photo taken!

I was working today and didn’t spot any dogs on the way in so I went for a walk at lunch time. I went to a park where I’ve had success before and spotted Frenchie Maurice carrying a big stick! I went over to say hello and then carried on with my search; I didn’t spot any other dogs during my lunch hour!

I went for a little walk when I got home, another night shot I’m afraid, I can’t wait for the days to get longer again! I spotted a very cute dog and went over to say hello! Poppy is a Border Terrier and she’s 15 years old; you wouldn’t think it though, she’s so active! Poppy would hardly keep still for a photo and her owner told that me she’ll walk for miles despite her advanced age!
