Year of th Dog Day 136

I went round to my parents house today along with my siblings, nieces and nephew’s. We all decided to go for a walk to the park. I spotted a few dogs on the way but I had Ethan on my shoulders at the time so I thought I’d wait for the way home to spot a dog! On the way home I got all the way back to my parents street before I spotted a dog! My dog of the day is really cute King a Pomeranian and Yorkshire Terrier cross; what a great combo! He looks a bit like a miniature German Shepherd! Even though King is small, he can jump really far!

Year of the Dog Day 132

I went for a little walk at lunch time but didn’t spot any dogs so I went for a walk before I picked up Ethan from nursery. I got my exercise in today walking up a steep hill to the park! When I got to the top of the hill I spotted a very happy and active dog! Nell was very happy chasing her ball, she really loves it! We used the ball to get her to pose for me! Nell lives with her human sister Isla who’s only 9 months old!

Year of the Dog Day 63

I went for a drive to Horwich today to take my son to the hairdressers and as we were parking up I spotted a lady training a guide dog so I went over to say hello. I wasn’t sure if they’d be able to stop but fortunately they could so I got to say hello to beautiful Thelma. Thelma is still a trainee guide dog, she’s in the last part of her training though and only has 2 months to go, what a clever girl! Thelma is sooo gentle and obviously very well behaved, she was one of the easiest dogs so far to get a photo of!

Since I’ve started my blog I’ve wanted to see a guide dog, they’re so amazing! The work they do is so fantastic, dogs really are incredible! To find out more about guide dogs follow the link below.

I met very handsome Barney, he’s soooo friendly, he enjoyed lots of strokes! Barney loves people but isn’t a big fan of cats! Barney has done some marathon training with his human dad, he can run 11 miles!

Year of the Dog Day 42

I had the day off today so I knew I’d manage to find a dog pretty easily! I went to visit my parents and looked out of the window for a while but didn’t spot any dogs, usually there are loads, so I went for a walk. I only had to walk to the end of their street before I saw a really cute little terrier who was very excited about playing fetch! I went over to say hello. It was pretty hard get a picture of gorgeous Tia as she didn’t want to stop playing fetch, she was barking ‘hurry up with this photo, I want to play’!

Whilst I was with Tia about 10 dogs walked past, including a really cute puppy American bulldog, I hope I see him again!

Year of the Dog Day 28

It’s been so windy and rainy today! I decided that if I could avoid walking around in the bad weather today to find a dog it would definitely be a good thing! I was off work today and so headed to my parents house in the afternoon. I bribed them with cakes to keep their eyes peeled for dogs walking past! I was there for about half an hour when a very cute dog walked past so I dashed out of the house. I met the very lovely Jack who is another rescue dog from Leigh Cats and Dogs home, he was adopted when he was 2 years old.

Year of the Dog Day 26

I went for a couple of little walks round Manchester today on my dog hunt but I didn’t spot any, there really aren’t many about in town!

When I got back to Bolton I popped to the shop and the guy that served me said “you’re the dog lady aren’t you?”. I hadn’t recognised him at first but it was the owner of Ruby, the very beautiful German Shepherd from Day 14! I asked him if he had thought that I was a bit of a weirdo and he said he kind of did until he had a look at the blog! I suspected as much!

Just as I started driving off from the shop I noticed a nice little dog with a very friendly looking lady so I parked up and jumped out of the car (I do totally accept that some people might interpret this as me being a bit weird!). The lovely dog is Kim a Staffie and Whippet cross, she has such a lovely kind face! Kim’s owner told me all about her and what a lovely girl she is! She also told me that once her and her partner were riding their bikes in the Lake District with Kim following them. They stopped for a rest and then another couple went past on their bikes, Kim thought they were her humans and so started following them!

Year of the Dog Day 10

I’ve been working today but I was very optimistic that there might be more dogs around Manchester city centre on the weekend than through the week. I went for a little wonder round at dinner time and spotted a dog heading into Gap so I went in hot pursuit! The dog in question is Rosie a very cute cross-breed. Rosie’s owners adopted her from a dogs home where she was in a bit of a bad way and pregnant! Rosie ended up having 7 puppies which were all adopted to good homes through the Blue Cross. Rosie’s owner ended up working for the Blue Cross a few years later in Devon and met 3 of Rosie’s puppies again, how mad is that! What a small world!

Year of the Dog Day 4

I decided today that I would try to find my dog of the day earlier on, take off the pressure! I was pretty lucky, as I left the house I saw 2 dogs walking down the street, I could tell from the smaller dogs walk that it was a which I was very excited about! It was really icy out, my son and husband had both slipped as soon as we left the house but I managed to run down the street without falling on my bum, bonus! I was very excited to see that I was right and it was a French Bulldog and the bigger one was a very handsome French/ English Bulldog cross. I absolutely adore French Bulldogs so I’m a very happy girl today! I would usually just include the one dog but as they were both together I thought it would be nice to have pictures of them both. I tried to get a picture of the 2 together but its early days for my dog photography skills and I couldn’t manage it!
