Year of the Dog: Hilda

It’s been quite along time since I last posted a picture of a gorgeous  doggy but I couldn’t resist sharing a picture of gorgeous pooch I met today! There was a market set up outside work today and beautiful Hilda a British Bulldog was on one of the stalls with her humans. I thought of an excuse to go outside a meet her and I gave her a good fuss, what a beautiful friendly girl!

I walked past later in the day after my lunch so I had to go and say hello again and make her a dog of the day! She was in her little bed when I went over but she ended up getting out so that I could give her a good stroke. She put her head really far back so I could stroke her chin, she also gave my hand a little hug, so cute! As I’ve said many times before, I absolutely love Bull dogs, I want Hilda to be my best friend! Hilda is a rescue dog and has been with her  current humans since July last year. Unfortunately Hilda was not treated well by her previous humans and has the scars to prove it. I’m very pleased she’s got such a loving home now.

I went for a walk around Manchester at lunchtime today but although it was really busy there weren’t any dogs about! I was meeting a couple of friends to go around the Christmas market this evening so after work I headed out around Manchester looking for a dog. Again it was really busy out but I couldn’t spot any dogs! I decided to walk to the Northern Quarter to see if I could spot any dogs there! I popped into a shop and asked one of the staff if he knew of any shops which had a dog; he did and he told me to go around the corner to James Darby Designs.

I headed round the corner to the shop and I was very happy when I spotted a Boxer Dog in the window! Trevor gave me a very warm welcome when I went inside. I was really pleased that James agreed to let me take Trevor’s photo, he’s a lovely doggy. Trevor has a big personality, he’s full of pizazz, I think he’s probably always very excited and smiley! I got to give Trevor lots of fuss, he lent in for bug cuddles and also sat on my knee! Trevor loves going to work with his human daddy every day, he has a big smile on his face every morning.

Crumble was bred by the Guide Dog Assistance and was then trained by Support Dogs in Sheffield. Crumble has been with her human daddy for 18 months, they already clearly love each other! Crumble assists her human to pick things up, open/ close doors, takes off his coat, gets his medication and is trained to bark for help. What a great job Crumble does, dogs really are amazing. Maurice’s human mummy told me about a Bichon Frise that they had met who had just gone into a shop so I headed in to search for it! I asked the man in the shop if a dog had just come in and he pointed me in the right direction! They were just coming back up the stairs when I met beautiful Daisy, what a lovely, friendly and excited girl she is! Fortunately I spotted a gorgeous dog on the way from the car to work so I ran to catch them up!  I met happy and excited William. He’s meant to be a Cocker Spaniel but his human thinks he might also have some Red Setter in him; I can definitely see that with his colour and his body and face seem slightly longer than a Cocker Spaniel.
