Year of the Dog Day 338

I had a lovely morning in Edinburgh. We went to visit the castle which is pretty amazing and then  not long after we left I spotted a gorgeous doggy that I had to go and say hello to! Bruce is a very handsome French Bulldog and Boston Terrier cross, what a brilliant combination, I love both those breeds! Bruce is from Canada, he has a doggy passport and he’s on holiday here for 8 months. Bruce is enjoying the UK but he’s not too keen on the rain! I got to give Bruce a good fuss, he’s very friendly and gave me lots of kisses!

Bruce has his own Instagram account, you can follow him at @brucedoggydog

I’ve travelled to Edinburgh today, it’s my first time here, what a beautiful city! Unfortunately it hasn’t stopped raining since I arrived which has hampered my dog searching a little!  I’d just come out of a shop where I bought a much needed umbrella when clever Tim spotted a very handsome French Bulldog; result! I was really pleased to meet lovely Louis and I was very happy when his humans let me take his picture; they were very kind as it meant they had to stand about in the rain! Louis is a very friendly boy, I gave him a good stroke and he lent into my legs for extra good stroking. Louis also made sure that Tim also said hello!

On my way to the train station heading home I spotted a man carrying a tiny puppy, I couldn’t miss saying hello! Get ready for cute overload as Bill Murray is gorgeous! Bill Murray’s human has only just picked him up from the breeder but I could see how much he loves him already! Bill Murray got his name because his human saw a picture of the human Bill Murray which he thought looked like his lovely puppy. It’s a great name! Bill’s mum is a French Bulldog, she’s very boisterous! Bill’s human hasn’t had time to get to know him yet so we don’t have answers to some of the usual questions but I’ll hopefully be able to update them when he’s older!

Year of the Dog Day 265

I had to wait for Tim to get home tonight before I could go in search for a dog, so as soon as he got back I headed to the park. I could see some dogs in the distance so I ran (it was really more of a slow jog) to catch them up! When I got closer to the group of 4 dogs I realised that one of the dogs was gorgeous Mika from day 74. Her dog brother Mason wasn’t with her today as he’s hurt his paw, I hope he feels better soon. Two of the dogs in the group today were gorgeous French Bulldogs and it turns out they also live with Mika and Mason; 4 brilliant dogs in one house, I’m well jealous! Mika is like the mummy bear and looks after them all! I decided to make beautiful Lexi my dog of the day. Lexi is Norman the other French Bulldogs mummy, it’s nice that Lexi gets to live with her lovely boy! Hopefully I’ll see Norman again so that he can be my Dog of the Day. Lexi is a really friendly girl, she never stops smiling and I got to give her lots of strokes! Lexi and Norman are going to feature in the French Bulldog Rescue GB 2016 Calendar.

We went for a day trip to Hardcastle Crags in Hebden Bridge today. It’s really beautiful there, what a gorgeous setting for the mill. There were lots of dogs about and I bumped into a beautiful French Bulldog on the bridge. Lola was a day trip out with Dennis a very handsome Border Collie so I decided to make them both my dogs of the day. I didn’t manage to get a picture of the two of them together though! Today was the first time that Lola and Dennis have met, they were getting on pretty well. I managed to give them both lots of strokes, they’re both very friendly!

Lola was with her humans daughter and she told me that her parents treat her a bit like a princess, Princess Lola! She gets to eat the best food and she gets fed at the same time on the dot every day! Lola even gets to go on holiday to France every year!

Dennis is a very obedient boy, they never need to put him on a lead! Dennis lives on a farm and is friends with some of the cows and horses. Dennis comes from a sheep herding family but hasn’t actually done it himself, he displays some sheep herding characteristics though. To get Dennis to stay still for a photo his human daddy held up a stick, he was very focussed on it!

I went for a walk with Ethan and my parents down today. As soon as I got to the bottom of the street I noticed two lovely dogs, a Black Labrador and a French Bulldog. Because I was too busy looking at the dogs I didn’t realise straight away that I actually know the dogs humans; I went to the same primary school and secondary school as Sarah! I started taking pictures of Beautiful Mia but then her human mummy realised that she’s already been on the blog, she was her human daddy at the time! Mia was dog of the day on Day 105 so today’s dog of the day is handsome Rudy. Rudy is a friendly boy and I got to give him a good stoke. Rudy loves kids and really enjoys playing with his human cousins! Rudy and Mia are best friends, they spend lots of time together and they love playing with each other! Rudy also knows gorgeous Bentley from Day 99! I couldn’t decide on a photo so I’ve put two up!

Year of the Dog Day 174

I popped out at lunchtime today and didn’t have to go very far before I spotted a dog walking on the other side of the road. I made a dash for it and met very cute Arnie, a puppy French Bulldog. I know I say this all the time but I really do love French Bulldogs! Arnie’s fur is really soft and he still has some excess skin to grow in to, so cute! He’s a really friendly boy, I got to give him lots of strokes! Arnie’s human dad works at Close barbers in Manchester and he gets to come to work with him every day; all of the customers must love him! Arnie also has his very own Instagram account; Arnie_FrenchBulldog.

Year of the Dog Day 170

We travelled back home from Weymouth today; we were stuck in traffic for most of the way, it took an age to get home! Fortunately I knew I’d have no trouble finding a dog today as there’s always loads at service stations; someone could do a blog on service station dogs! As soon as we drove into the car park I spotted a French Bulldog, I was very pleased, I think they’re great! Finn is a very handsome and friendly boy, I got to give him lots of strokes! Finn’s humans have previously had Boxer dogs but wanted to go for something smaller and so the chose a French Bulldog! They said when they went to pick him up he looked a bit funny and had a wonky eye! He just sat there and looked at them and they fell in love. He definitely doesn’t have a wonky eye now!

I’m really lucky, I should have been working today but lovely Mitch who I work with swopped with me so that I could go to a dog show; thanks Mitch! I went to a dog show at Turton Tower, it was great, so many dogs in one place, living the dream! There were loads of dogs, I saw 3 Dogue De Bordeaux’s, a puppy Saint Bernard (words cannot describe how cute), an Old English Sheep Dog, a Flat Coated Retriever called Milo, 2 gorgeous French Bulldogs and many more; they were all amazing! In case you can’t tell it’s been a very exciting afternoon!

I spotted a gorgeous Boston Terrier; I absolutely adore Boston Terriers so I went over to say hello! Lenny is full of pizzazz, so much personality! Lenny is only small but he can jump really high, his human sisters were telling me all about his jumping escapades! The family have had to stop hanging up their coats downstairs because Lenny jumps up and chews the end of the zips; he’s destroyed a few coats that way! Lenny is a really friendly boy and wanted to say hello to all of the dogs that walked past!

Year of the Dog Day 39

I was working today and didn’t spot any dogs on the way in so I went for a walk at lunch time. I went to a park where I’ve had success before and spotted Frenchie Maurice carrying a big stick! I went over to say hello and then carried on with my search; I didn’t spot any other dogs during my lunch hour!

I went for a little walk when I got home, another night shot I’m afraid, I can’t wait for the days to get longer again! I spotted a very cute dog and went over to say hello! Poppy is a Border Terrier and she’s 15 years old; you wouldn’t think it though, she’s so active! Poppy would hardly keep still for a photo and her owner told that me she’ll walk for miles despite her advanced age!

I’m very happy today! I’ve worked late tonight so I was really hoping I’d find a dog during my lunchtime as it would be way too late after work! I went to Saint Anne’s square and then to the Cathedral but no dogs! My next stop was the park that I met the lovely Teazle in but still nothing. From there I went a slightly longer way back to work and struck gold again! Across the street a noticed 4 little paws. I started running and as I got nearer I realised it was a French Bulldog puppy, soooooo happy! The very cute Prince is very friendly and his owner was very happy to tell me all about him, he loves him loads! I also got to have a little hug with Prince who showered me with kisses! Every day I hope I can hold a puppy; dreams do come true!

Year of the Dog Day 5

It was my first day back to work today after the Christmas holidays. I was worried I’d struggle to get the time to find a dog today so I was eagle-eyed with my dogdar switched on! I got off the train in Manchester along with about another 100 commuters and through the crowd I saw a bum which I believed belonged to a British Bulldog wagging from side to side. I sprinted (it was really more of a jog) after the dog! When I made my way through the crowd I discovered that again there were two dogs, a British Bulldog and a French Bulldog, almost the same as yesterday (they are different dogs, I promise!). Again I was very excited, 4 Bulldogs in 2 days, jackpot! I was a little out of breath but I managed to ask the friendly man if I could take a picture of his dogs. The British Bulldog is a male but called Louise, I’m told it’s a long story but unfortunately I didn’t have time to ask what the story is! Today I did manage to get a photo of the 2 dogs together but Louise has come out a bit blurry which is a shame, I’m sure I’ll get better at it!

Year of the Dog Day 4

I decided today that I would try to find my dog of the day earlier on, take off the pressure! I was pretty lucky, as I left the house I saw 2 dogs walking down the street, I could tell from the smaller dogs walk that it was a which I was very excited about! It was really icy out, my son and husband had both slipped as soon as we left the house but I managed to run down the street without falling on my bum, bonus! I was very excited to see that I was right and it was a French Bulldog and the bigger one was a very handsome French/ English Bulldog cross. I absolutely adore French Bulldogs so I’m a very happy girl today! I would usually just include the one dog but as they were both together I thought it would be nice to have pictures of them both. I tried to get a picture of the 2 together but its early days for my dog photography skills and I couldn’t manage it!
