Year of the Dog Day 359

Merry Christmas! I’m typing up my blog now before I get too tipsy!

I had to pick up my parents today to bring them round for Christmas dinner and I spotted a very cute dog on the way! I pulled in and ran after handsome Toby, a Staffie and Labrador Cross. Toby is a friendly boy and he’s very cute, I gave him a good stroke! Toby is a rescue dog from Bolton Destitute Animal Statuary. He was found tied up outside the statuary one Christmas; he’s lived with is current human for 5 years!

I went for a little walk at lunchtime today; I went to St Anne’s Square again and spotted a dog straight away but as I got closer I realised that it was Raphael from day 320. I gave him a little stroke! I carried on walking and when I was back on Deansgate I spotted a beautiful Staffie so I went to say hello! Ruby is a beautiful girl, she very smiley and very friendly. She cuddled my hand with both her paws and licked me at the same time, very sweet! Ruby is a rescue dog from Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home. Her current humans have had her for 5 years; she was in a bad way when she first went to live with them; it took her two years to stop being so nervous around people, she’s happy around people now! Her original name was Maddie but she didn’t respond to that name so they changed it to Ruby; its a good name!

The weather today has been truly horrible, it’s not stopped raining! As it was raining so hard this afternoon I decided that I would pop to Pets at Home in the hopes I would see a dog there, but again I had no joy so I headed to Jolleys where I’d spotted a dog yesterday. When I got there wasn’t a dog to be seen so I headed home. I had no choice but to go and search in the rain and I didn’t even get down the street before I got splashed by a car! It was pretty quiet about but eventually I spotted a handsome Staffie so I went to say hello. Melvin is a lovely dog, he’s really friendly and I think he might be a bit of a softy; I gave him lots of strokes!

Anyway just behind the horses I spotted a dog sat outside the café so I went over to say hello! Koby is a lovely friendly Staffordshire Bull Terrier, I gave him lots of strokes and I couldn’t believe how soft his fur is, he spends lots of time in the doggy parlour! Koby is a rescue dog, he’s around 7 years old but he’s lived with his current human for the last 18 months. Koby’s human fell in love with him as soon as he met him, he just had to take him home! Year of the Dog Day 286

I had training on the other side of Manchester this morning, I hoped I would spot a  dog on the way back to work but no joy! When I got to Ethan’s nursery I went for a little walk around the block but again no joy, so I decided I would pop to the park on the way home. I’m really gutted that it’s starting to get dark early, it’s difficult to get good pictures! When I got to the park there was still some light and I spotted Tobias a very excited puppy running in the field. I’ve met Tobias before, he was playing with Molly from day 275. Tobias is very excited, he’s a ball of energy, it takes quite a lot to tire him out! Tobias is a friendly boy and loves playing with other dogs!

I forgot my dog blog kit today, booooo! I was going to go out at lunchtime too! Anyway I picked up Ethan from my parents after work and headed home and as Tim was home I went in search of a dog. The weather looked really threatening but I’m pleased to say that it didn’t rain! I didn’t have to go far when I spotted a very happy looking dog walking down the path so I went to meet him. Oscar is a cross between a Jack Russell and Staffordshire Bull Terrier, he’s a handsome boy! It’s really interesting to see which features a dog gets from each breed; Oscar has the face shape of a Jack Russell and the features of a Staffie! Oscar is very alert, he had his eye on the ball the whole time I was with him! Oscar’s parents saw a advert for him on a website. When they went to meet him they were worried about what might happen to him if they didn’t give him a home so he came to live with them, I’m glad he did!

I went for a walk to the park and spotted a happy Yorkshire Terrier in the field but then I realised that it was lovely Bobby from day 90! Myself and my friends Jen and Rebecca went climbing tonight. We were all had on our dog spotting eyes on the way there but unfortunately didn’t see any! We didn’t leave the climbing centre until 9.30pm so I thought I might struggle to find a dog. Fortunately my friend Rebecca has a dog so we popped round to her house on the way home, thank you Rebecca! This is the first time that I’ve met Tyler, she’s beautiful! She was very excited to see us all, her tail wagged the whole time and she didn’t stop smiling! She’s a very clever girl and can do many tricks, she was also very good posing for her photos!

Year of the Dog Day 26

I went for a couple of little walks round Manchester today on my dog hunt but I didn’t spot any, there really aren’t many about in town!

When I got back to Bolton I popped to the shop and the guy that served me said “you’re the dog lady aren’t you?”. I hadn’t recognised him at first but it was the owner of Ruby, the very beautiful German Shepherd from Day 14! I asked him if he had thought that I was a bit of a weirdo and he said he kind of did until he had a look at the blog! I suspected as much!

Just as I started driving off from the shop I noticed a nice little dog with a very friendly looking lady so I parked up and jumped out of the car (I do totally accept that some people might interpret this as me being a bit weird!). The lovely dog is Kim a Staffie and Whippet cross, she has such a lovely kind face! Kim’s owner told me all about her and what a lovely girl she is! She also told me that once her and her partner were riding their bikes in the Lake District with Kim following them. They stopped for a rest and then another couple went past on their bikes, Kim thought they were her humans and so started following them!
