Year of the Dog Day 344

I went for a walk around Manchester at lunchtime today but although it was really busy there weren’t any dogs about! I was meeting a couple of friends to go around the Christmas market this evening so after work I headed out around Manchester looking for a dog. Again it was really busy out but I couldn’t spot any dogs! I decided to walk to the Northern Quarter to see if I could spot any dogs there! I popped into a shop and asked one of the staff if he knew of any shops which had a dog; he did and he told me to go around the corner to James Darby Designs.

I headed round the corner to the shop and I was very happy when I spotted a Boxer Dog in the window! Trevor gave me a very warm welcome when I went inside. I was really pleased that James agreed to let me take Trevor’s photo, he’s a lovely doggy. Trevor has a big personality, he’s full of pizazz, I think he’s probably always very excited and smiley! I got to give Trevor lots of fuss, he lent in for bug cuddles and also sat on my knee! Trevor loves going to work with his human daddy every day, he has a big smile on his face every morning.

I went to Moss Bank Park this afternoon with Tim and Ethan. There were plenty of dogs about and then I spotted a really lovely looking Boxer Dog so I went over to say hello. Cleo is a gorgeous girl. She’s getting quite old now but she’s still very active and alert, she’s full of beans! Cleo had some bad news early this year, she was diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately they found out early enough that the vets could operate. Cleo had lots of fuss from people walking past today, she is very lovely though!

On the way back home from the Lake District we decided to drop off at Carnforth to visit the train station where Brief Encounter was filmed. I’ve wanted to go there for ages and I wasn’t disappointed, the café was great. Whilst we were there we met a beautiful dog called Jo, a Boxer and Husky cross; what a great combination, look at how lovely she is! Jo is a friendly girl, I gave her lots of fuss and she gave me a little kiss! Jo was a very excited puppy but she’s started to clam down as she’s gotten a bit older. Jo loves spending time with her human daddy, they’re with each other most of he time. Jo is really good at catching; she can catch a biscuit that is thrown across the room. As you can see in the photo one of her ears sticks up whilst the other one flops over, how cute.

I was on my way to pick up Ethan from nursery when I spotted a gorgeous and very excited Boxer Dog. I crossed the road to say hello but they crossed to the other side at the same time so I had to cross back again, I think I might have seemed like a crazy stalker! Eric is a friendly boy, I got to give him lots of stokes. Eric was excited the whole time I was with him, I don’t think he stopped wagging his tail! Eric has a human brother who’s two years old, Eric is really gentle with him and likes to look after him! Eric thinks that he’s a lap top, he likes los of stokes and leans into his humans for a cuddle. Eric is named after Eric Cantona, my mum really appreciate that name, she loves King Eric! Eric humans have previously owned a Boxer dog called Keano (named after Roy Keane).

I really love Boxer dogs, they’re so friendly, happy and smiley; Kenya (Kenny for short) was no exception! Kenny has such a big beautiful smile as you can see in the photo, such a gorgeous girl! Me and Kenny it hit off, I feel that we’re already friends and I got to play fetch with her!

I spotted quite a lot of dogs today but unfortunately at the time I was carrying Ethan who had fallen to sleep so I couldn’t stop to meet any of them! We popped to the shops and there was a Pets at Home so I thought I’d pop in! I didn’t even get through the door when I spotted a very handsome Boxer dog. Henri is a very smiley, friendly boy and quite excited too, he doesn’t keep still! Henri lives in France for part of the year, what a lucky boy!

Year of the Dog Day 130

I was invited to Laila’s (from day 62) birthday party today so I knew I’d see plenty of dogs but on the way there I spotted at Saint Bernard! I was soooo excited, everyday I hope I’ll see a Saint Bernard! I had to get my husband to pull over in the car and I ran out to say hello. I met very beautiful Ruby, she’s such a lovely girl. I got to give her lots of strokes and she sat on my feet to make sure I couldn’t move and so could carry on stroking her! To be fair it’s pretty hard to move a Saint Bernard off you! Ruby lives in the Tansy Green pub and so she gets lots of fussing from the locals. She make herself at home and sits on the seats next to the customers and she’s also been know to steal some Guiness! Ruby’s human dad has told me that the movie Beethoven is pretty much what it’s like having a Saint Bernard; you have to make sure you don’t leave the toilet seat up! Ruby is also a mum and once had a litter of 7 puppies. Unfortunately Ruby has since been diagnosed with epilepsy and has to take medication every day; she leads a full and happy life though!

Laila’s birthday party was lots of fun and I got to see lots of lovely dogs including a Grey Whippet, a Westie, Alfie from day 113 and a puppy Boxer; all in all a very good day!

Year of the Dog Day 99

Just as I was taking pictures of lovely Glen yesterday I spotted a very handsome Old English Bulldog; sooo gorgeous! I asked his human mummy if she would be able to meet up with me today so that I could take his picture and she said yes, very happy! It was pretty nice knowing that I had a dog lined up today so I didn’t have to go searching at dinnertime, I did happen to walk past about 5 dogs though!

After work myself, Ethan and my Dad went for a walk down the street to meet up with lovely Bentley! He’s such a lovely dog with bags of character; basically everyone that walks past him wants to say hello! You can’t really tell from the picture but Bentley is quite big considering he’s only 7 months old!

Bentley is a rescue dog. His breeder took him to the vets to have him put down as a young puppy because he had cherry eye even though the condition is very treatable. Luckily Bentleys Human mum’s daughter works in the vets and rang her mum to ask is they could give Bentley a home; the answer was yes! Who wouldn’t, he’s great!

I walked out of a coffee shop after a meeting and was greeted by very handsome Rodney, a Bull Mastiff and Boxer cross. He was so friendly, a really gentle boy who loves people, especially ladies! Rodney is a rescue dog from Cheshire dogs home.

I was starting to worry that I might have left it a little late today to find a dog; although it was only 3.30pm when I left the house it was starting to get a little dark and I thought I might struggle! Fortunately just round the corner from my parents’ house I bumped into a very lovely Boxer dog. Again the dog owner didn’t think I was crazy and was happy for me to take a photo of the lovely Poppy!
