Year of the Dog Day 264

I only took a short lunch in work today so I had to wait until I got back to Bolton to look for a dog. I parked up at my parents house and went in search for a dog. To be honest I was pretty tired tonight and was a little disheartened when there didn’t seem to be any dogs about, but then I spotted a man walking 4 really happy dogs! I decided to take a picture of Maddie as her human thought she might be the easiest to keep still, they are all very excited dogs! Despite being 10 years old Maddie is really active, she hardly keeps still! It was pretty difficult to get a picture of her but fortunately I did manage to get one! Maddie is a rescue dog, she was rescued from a rescue home in Leigh.

We went for a day trip to Hardcastle Crags in Hebden Bridge today. It’s really beautiful there, what a gorgeous setting for the mill. There were lots of dogs about and I bumped into a beautiful French Bulldog on the bridge. Lola was a day trip out with Dennis a very handsome Border Collie so I decided to make them both my dogs of the day. I didn’t manage to get a picture of the two of them together though! Today was the first time that Lola and Dennis have met, they were getting on pretty well. I managed to give them both lots of strokes, they’re both very friendly!

Lola was with her humans daughter and she told me that her parents treat her a bit like a princess, Princess Lola! She gets to eat the best food and she gets fed at the same time on the dot every day! Lola even gets to go on holiday to France every year!

Dennis is a very obedient boy, they never need to put him on a lead! Dennis lives on a farm and is friends with some of the cows and horses. Dennis comes from a sheep herding family but hasn’t actually done it himself, he displays some sheep herding characteristics though. To get Dennis to stay still for a photo his human daddy held up a stick, he was very focussed on it!

I gave my friend a lift home from the train station today and just I was parked up I spotted a man walking two lovely dogs. When I started talking to him I realised that I recognised him and one of the dogs; it was beautiful Daisy from Day 88. They lost another dog last year and they waited a few months until they got another one and beautiful Ebony came to live with them. Ebony is such an excited happy girl, she’s got a lovely big smile! Her and Daisy get on well despite Ebony always stealing her ball!

I’m working a late night again today so I really had to make sure that I found a dog in the daytime, it would be way too late by the time I would get back to Bolton! I was on my way to the train station when I spotted a lovely Westie, I was really pleased; I didn’t imagine that I would spot a dog in that spot at that time of day! I even managed to catch my normal train as well!
Tammy is a lovely girl, she’s very cute but she’s also very shy. Tammy unfortunately has an eye condition which means she can’t see properly! Her human mummy has to bathe her eyes and put eye drops in daily, poor Tammy.

I went for a little walk to the park with Ethan this evening and as soon as I got there I spotted a puppy Bulldog, what a find! It’s fair to say I was pretty chuffed! Winston is a really lovely friendly dog, I gave him lots of strokes and so did Ethan. Winston is such a cutie that everyone wants to stop and stroke him, he had a number of admirers whilst I was with him! Winston originally had a previous owner but they had a Pug which didn’t get on with him so he was returned to the breeder and then his current human took him home! Winston’s human was going to go on another holiday this year but decided to buy Winston instead; he’s definitely better than a holiday! Winston’s human mummy is trying to teach him not to beg for food but she has discovered that her neighbour has been giving him food over the fence!

I gave Luna a good stroke, she was very happy! She kept chewing her lead, she always likes to have something in her mouth! At first I thought she might be a Boxer Dog cross but it turns out that she is a Victorian Bulldog, I didn’t know that there was such a breed! Victorian Bulldogs are similar to Bulldogs but they are slightly taller and tend to have less breathing problems; they are similar to Bulldogs in temperament though! When Luna was a puppy they discovered that she is completely deaf but they are still able to communicate with her by using hand gestures, it’s like doggy sign language! She’s such a happy girl, she definitely doesn’t let being deaf hold her back!

When I left the trade show I was discussing with my friend that I’d need to find a park when a lovely little dog walked past, I was very pleased!

Jessie is a beautiful friendly girl, she didn’t stop wagging her tail! She’s a cross between a Jack Russell, Norfolk Terrier and Norwich Terrier, what a great combo. Jessie’s human mummy thinks she’s half human, she’s a really sensitive soul and likes to do what her humans are doing! When Jessie is hungry she licks her lips! Jessie is a lucky girl and gets to go to the office with her human mummy every day.

Because I was too busy looking at the dogs I didn’t realise straight away that I actually know the dogs humans; I went to the same primary school and secondary school as Sarah! I started taking pictures of Beautiful Mia but then her human mummy realised that she’s already been on the blog, she was her human daddy at the time! Mia was dog of the day on Day 105 so today’s dog of the day is handsome Rudy. Rudy is a friendly boy and I got to give him a good stoke. Rudy loves kids and really enjoys playing with his human cousins! Rudy and Mia are best friends, they spend lots of time together and they love playing with each other! Rudy also knows gorgeous Bentley from Day 99! I couldn’t decide on a photo so I’ve put two up!

I didn’t spot any other dogs in Manchester so I went for a walk to the park when I got home. It was pretty quiet about but then I spotted a lovely dog at the bottom of the hill so I headed down the hill to say hello! Toby is a very friendly and handsome boy! He’d just been for a swim so he was all wet but I still gave him a good stroke! It was difficult to get a photo of Toby as he wouldn’t keep still; he’s an excited boy! Toby is partially sighted. When he was a puppy they discovered that he had a problem with his eyes so he had to go and see a specialist. Toby has cataracts in his both of his eyes, if they get worse he might need to have an operation. Toby lives with his dog brother, a Beagle called Milo. They get on really well and are best friends! Toby is a real mummy’s boy, he follows her everywhere!

I spotted a couple of cute dogs today but at the time I was carrying a big ladder so I couldn’t really stop to say hello! Once we’d finished painting I went for a little walk to the park. I soon as I got there I met a very nice German Shepherd. Mike is a lovely boy, he’s a little shy but he still came over to say hello. He leant into me so that I could give him a good stroke and a cuddle! Mike likes having a fuss made of him, I think he would have let me stoke him all night!

I really wanted to find a dog early on today, I was worried I’d struggle in the evening so I went for a walk when I got to Manchester this morning but no joy! I went out at lunchtime but again no dogs! Fortunately pretty much as soon as I left work this evening I bumped into a beautiful and excited puppy!

Lily is a lovely friendly girl, I think she’s excited to see everyone! Lily was a good girl and sat for her photo, she’s such a cutie. Look at those lovely ears, so gorgeous. Lily likes to chew her lead, she’s even managed to tangle it up!

I was off work today so I popped round to my parents as usual in the afternoon. I was turning the car round at the bottom of the street when I spotted a chap walking a gorgeous Bernese Mountain Dog, but I didn’t have time to park up and get Ethan out of the car to go after them; gutted! Hopefully I’ll spot them again one day.

When I arrived at my parents house they told me about a lovely puppy Husky that they’d seen the other day, I was pretty jealous! We decided to go for  little walk to the park and on the way I couldn’t believe it when we spotted the puppy Husky, what a result! Ghost is such a cutie and she’s so tiny, she’s only 12 weeks old! She’s a really friendly girl, I got to give her lots of strokes and cuddles. I’m so lucky, lets face it who doesn’t want to hug a puppy! Ghost also played with Ethan who wanted to play chase with her!

Oscar was a little bit nervous when I first went over; he used to be bold and would go up to anyone but he became really nervous of new people after a trip to the vets! Oscar warmed up to me though and I got to give him lots of fuss and rub his tum! He especially likes having his belly rubbed and lies down on his back as soon as his humans stroke him! Dolly and Betty are sisters, they are from a litter of 5 but they were best friends with each other. Dolly and Betty’s humans own a café called Betty and Dolly’s Sandwich Bar and Tea Room, it’s a dog friendly café so the girls get to go to work with their humans. Lots of dogs go into the café and they take a photo of each one that visits and put it up on the wall, what a great idea! They’ve had Bull Dog parties at the café, I hope I can go to the next one! Dolly and Betty are like a pair of celebrities, loads of people stopped to stroke them and a couple took their photo! It was pouring down at lunchtime today so I decided not to go out on a dog search until I got back to Bolton. I parked up near nursery and spotted a very lovely looking dog across the road so I went to say hello. Lilly was so excited that she did her excited dog dance where she steps from side to side, so cute. Lilly always does her dance when she’s excited! It reminds of a lovely Black and White Corgi I used to know called Pearl, she also used to dance from side to side when I saw her. The excited dog dance always makes me think of that episode of the Simpsons where Homer makes Lisa play the jug to help him think and he does a side to side dance along to the thinking music!

Lilly is such a happy friendly dog, she’s one of the happiest dogs I’ve ever met! Lilly is a Golden Labrador and Golden Retriever cross. When she was a puppy she looked more like a Labrador but her fur has changed as she’s aged and is now darker and with more curls. Lilly is best friends with a cat called Daz, they love each other loads and are always licking each other.
