Year of the Dog Day 246

I went for a little walk at lunchtime today and just as I was on my way back to work I spotted two very lovely Kerry Blue Terriers across the road; what a result! Coco and Charlie are both very lovely, I gave them both a little stroke! Coco and Charlie aren’t from the same litter, Charlie is from Ipswich and Coco is from Staffordshire. Coco really loves Charlie but Charlie just tolerates Coco; poor Coco! Coco and Charlie are very lucky and get to go the office with their human dad every day.

Year of the Dog Day 244

It was pouring down at lunchtime today so I decided not to go out on a dog search until I got back to Bolton. I parked up near nursery and spotted a very lovely looking dog across the road so I went to say hello. Lilly was so excited that she did her excited dog dance where she steps from side to side, so cute. Lilly always does her dance when she’s excited! It reminds of a lovely Black and White Corgi I used to know called Pearl, she also used to dance from side to side when I saw her. The excited dog dance always makes me think of that episode of the Simpsons where Homer makes Lisa play the jug to help him think and he does a side to side dance along to the thinking music!

Lilly is such a happy friendly dog, she’s one of the happiest dogs I’ve ever met! Lilly is a Golden Labrador and Golden Retriever cross. When she was a puppy she looked more like a Labrador but her fur has changed as she’s aged and is now darker and with more curls. Lilly is best friends with a cat called Daz, they love each other loads and are always licking each other.

On the way back home from the Lake District we decided to drop off at Carnforth to visit the train station where Brief Encounter was filmed. I’ve wanted to go there for ages and I wasn’t disappointed, the café was great. Whilst we were there we met a beautiful dog called Jo, a Boxer and Husky cross; what a great combination, look at how lovely she is! Jo is a friendly girl, I gave her lots of fuss and she gave me a little kiss! Jo was a very excited puppy but she’s started to clam down as she’s gotten a bit older. Jo loves spending time with her human daddy, they’re with each other most of he time. Jo is really good at catching; she can catch a biscuit that is thrown across the room. As you can see in the photo one of her ears sticks up whilst the other one flops over, how cute.

Myself and my friend Jen went for a run this morning; I know we’re very good, I just can’t walk now! I took my camera with me just in case I spotted a lovely dog and I did! At first I thought that he was a German Shepherd but as I got closer I realised that he wasn’t. I was sure what he was, I thought he might be a cross between a German Shepherd and a Rough Collie but it turns out that he’s a Belgium Shepherd Dog; absolutely gorgeous! Zadok is a friendly, smiley boy, I gave him lots of strokes. Zadok is named after a Handel piece of Music. Zadok is his humans’ 5th Belgium Shepherd Dog, they really love the breed; I can totally see why. They first got a Belgium shepherd Dog when they went to visit a breeder in Cartmel and they feel in love!

I’m a lucky girl and I’m spending the weekend in the Lake District with some friends. There are loads of dogs in the Lake District so I know I’m going to have good dog spotting this weekend! We went for a little walk to the beach and I spotted a couple with 2 lovely looking Border Terriers and a very excited Border Collie so I went over to meet them. Fred, Alf and Buddy are all very lovely and friendly, I gave them all a stroke and especially Buddy who likes to lean in for a fuss! The dogs humans previously owned another Border Collie called Sam and they got Fred whist Sam was still alive. Unfortunately Sam had a stroke and so they got Alf to keep Fred company when Sam went. As it turned out Sam lived for another 2 years. After Sam passed they missed having a bigger dog. They popped to town one day and spotted a sign for Border Collie puppies for £25 so they went and bought handsome Buddy. They all get on really well, what a lovely bunch of dogs.

I crossed the road to say hello but they crossed to the other side at the same time so I had to cross back again, I think I might have seemed like a crazy stalker! Eric is a friendly boy, I got to give him lots of stokes. Eric was excited the whole time I was with him, I don’t think he stopped wagging his tail! Eric has a human brother who’s two years old, Eric is really gentle with him and likes to look after him! Eric thinks that he’s a lap top, he likes los of stokes and leans into his humans for a cuddle. Eric is named after Eric Cantona, my mum really appreciate that name, she loves King Eric! It’s national dog day today, hello all of you lovely doggies!

I went round to my parents house this afternoon with Ethan, my two nephews were there as well, they were all mega excited! Myself, Ethan, my nephews and my dad all went on a walk for a dog search and as soon as I got to the bottom of the street I spotted a very excited Springer Spaniel. Molly was on a walk with her human daddy and human sister. Molly’s a very happy doggy, she was having the best time chasing her ball! Molly’s human granddad also has a Springer Spaniel called Charlie (her dog uncle!) which she’s friends with, they see each other all the time.

After I saw Molly I also saw beautiful Poppy from Day 3, such a lovely girl. Ethan and my nephews are now obsessed with her, they gave her lots of strokes and she didn’t stop smiling! They wanted to follow her home! When I first saw Poppy I didn’t get a great photo of her as it was turning dark so I got another shot of her today!

Zack is a Bouvier Des Flandres; I haven’t heard of the breed before so I was very excited to  meet him! There are so many different dog breeds, it’s amazing really! Zack is a friendly boy and lent in for a good stroke! Zack is the second Bouvier Des Flandres that his humans have had, they really love the breed and who can blame them, Zack is lovely. Zack has just had a haircut so usually his hair would be longer, he looks very smart.

They had to drive all the way to Manchester from Italy as Leo can’t fly! Leo is a rescue dog from an Italian rescue centre. He was rescued 4 years ago, but he’d been in the rescue centre for 5 years at that point; I’m so pleased that he’s found his forever home. Alan is a really friendly boy and has lots of pizazz, look at that snazzy red jumper! Alan’s human really wanted to have a dog called Alan so when she went to visit the littler of puppies she said to Alan “are you Alan” and he tilted his head as if to say “yes I am”, she knew he was the one! Alan loves his human mummy and doesn’t like to be apart from her, fortunately she works from home. Alan is a clever boy and can do some tricks, he can play dead!
